25 Lessons for 2025
25 Lessons for 2025
Welcome to the wrap up for 2025. These are the 25 lessons I am taking into the new year.
1. Just be fu*king patient.
I had given up winning an Australian Small Business Champion Award. I got it.
I gave up on finding medical answers for my kidneys. I found them.
I didn’t think I’d speak at Blueprint. I did that too.
Do the work and be patient. It’s not a race and you have time - even more than you think. And I am reminding myself of that right now..
2. I should have been honest about my chronic health condition earlier.
I felt for a long time that it was really a taboo thing. It was too personal. What I didn't realise is that people have been amazing. No one judged. Everyone supported.
People don’t care in the way you think - they care in the way you need.
3. Friendships change.
Sometimes you drift. Sometimes you circle back. Sometimes you grow and they don’t.
Never apologise for outgrowing people who had the chance to grow with you. Not everyone has the same values, ethics and goals as you
4. Things are ever-changing.
Let me take the idea that has gotten me this far and put it to bed. What I am about to do will not be that but it will be something. (And God let me enjoy this. Life isn’t a sequence of waiting for things to be done)
5. Only do things you enjoy.
My word was GOLD and I built a GOLD life.
It meant gutting the Lab. It meant stopping things done out of guilt.
It meant choosing intention over obligation.
6. To be loved is to be seen.
My walls are famous. I know this.
But when I let people in, they listen. They show up.
Jon literally bought me tickets to sleep under a dinosaur. Also, he is so single guys. I cannot recommend him enough.
7. 40 isn’t scary.
It was Hawaii, Jurassic Park, yacht jumps, a big cake, and the people I love.
And I got to have a huge party and a cake and always celebrate your birthday. It’s such a short trip. You get so few of them. I’m like half-way done. What the hell.
8. You will lose people you fucking love.
You will lose people you fucking love and it will fucking hurt. I said goodbye to one of my favourite people. I cry whenever I talk about her. I’m not ready to delete her off my mailing list. Or remove her photo from my fridge yet. My eyes swell with tears whenever I speak her name. Grief is just love that has nowhere to go. Like I said – it’s a short trip. .
9. Say yes to the things.
Deal or No Deal. The Hundred. Blueprint. Cat cafés. Escape rooms.
Life is richer when you say yes.
10. Health is delicate. Private health is worth every damn cent.
11. You don’t need to tell anyone your next move.
Move in silence. Let the results do the talking.
12. Micro learning changes everything.
Duolingo daily. Documentaries. TED Talks.
Five pages of a book after lunch.
One page becomes a chapter. One lesson becomes a skill.
I’m 500 days into Indonesian and can almost play chess now.
13. Just because it could have been different doesn’t mean it would be better.
14. Networking is always key to growing your business.
Always. Every room builds the next room.
15. Your reputation is everything.
Without going to much into Taylor Swifts best album, let me say that I’ve booked work, picked up my biggest clients and made amazing money because of my reputation. I’ve worked hard to keep my side of the street clean. My word is trusted. My name is safe in rooms I’m not in.
16. Set timers for all your social media.
Thirty minutes per app per day.
You’re not missing anything.
Retrain your brain. Get your life back. Get VOID. This is not an ad.
17. Want to be successful? Do it anyway.
Do it anyway. I did Business Blueprint after the worst breakup I’ve had in years. I did it sad. You need to do it angry and hreatbroken and miserable. Do it excited. Do it energised. Do it happy. Do it tired. Do it confident. Do it discouraged. Do it anyway you have to, however you need to get it done.
18. Rest is a strategy, not a reward.
My best ideas come when I stop sprinting.
Burnout produces nothing. Rest produces clarity.
19. You can reinvent yourself at any time.
New programs. New brand. New direction.
You are not stuck. Reinvention is a decision, not a timeline.
20. You don’t need closure to move on.
Some things will never make sense.
You get to move forward anyway.
21. If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no.
Your energy is your currency.
Stop spending it on things that don’t grow you.
22. You deserve people who choose you without hesitation.
Not “when they’re free.”
Not “when it’s convenient.”
People who pick you on the first ring.
23. Being visible will always feel uncomfortable - do it anyway.
Visibility is not confidence.
Visibility is courage.
24. Start before you’re ready. Always.
You will never feel 100 percent prepared.
The magic is in the leap, not the plan.
25. I am SO excited for the next 12 months.
After a three-week break, I can feel it: 2026 is my launchpad.
I have the clarity, the systems, the team, the momentum.
This is the year everything gets bigger, bolder, sharper.
